off the shoulder.
I love a big slouchy sweater, especially one that reveals a peek of my shoulder. I mean, I think there is something so incredibly hot about showing off just a bit of skin. Ha, I guess one wouldn't normally describe a big old sweater as "hot", but I swear that little glimpse of skin is pretty frickin' feminine. I've got my eye on this free people goodie. Pretty please get into my closet.

this dress.
So I think I already talked about this free people dress, but I just can't get enough of it, so I had to dedicate an entire post to it. I wore it to an Anthropologie event and the amazing Abi Q snapped the below photo of me. Thanks Abi! I pulled out the dress again this morning and since it's sprinkling out I layered it up. A white long sleeve tee underneath, skinny jeans, and these boots. I'm telling you, this dress can be worn year around...it's a keeper!
And a huge happy birthday to my father-in-law today! Wishing you an awesome day and I can't wait for lunch so we can celebrate.

going lighter.
This hair color? YES please. I've been loving my ombre hair, but now I'm thinking I may want to go even lighter. And when I spotted the below picture I thought that this might be just the look I am going for. Ha, we shall see, as I seem to change my mind about this every few days. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
modern budget. one.
First off, I wanted to say a huge thanks for the comments, tweets, and emails regarding my Friday post. It truly means so very much to me and G to have support from all of you! Muah!
And now, I wanted to share a new little series of posts that I will be introducing to the blog, modern budget. All of my friends are pretty much in shock when I show up to a party and when asked what I'm wearing, a common answer is Forever 21 or H&M or a second hand store find. I am a bargain shopper at heart. I grew up thrift shopping with my mom and to this day, I always get a thrill when I find the perfect little dress or top buried amongst racks of clothing. So, follow me as I head into the dressing room of some of my favorite budget friendly stores, to find outfits that I love and are easy on the wallet. Here's my first post in this new series, at Forever 21. It's been chilly here in the city (shhhh, don't tell anyone but I don't really mind the cold). But for all of my friends who are looking forward to warmer days, I thought I'd try on a Spring look. A fun skirt ($22.80), delicate top ($27.80), and my fave booties ($29.99). Easy to throw on as you head out the door, and defintely won't break the bank.
